The Educational Information And Improvement System helps in maintaining and retrieving the information and provides a way for improving the academic aspect of the Academic Center. Though it developed for schools, It can be used in the institutes like colleges, Professional colleges and technical institutes.
1. Configuration: Configuration is the process, which is used to provide essential data and information that is very much required to prepare the software for using it. There are two types of configuration – Initial Configuration and Annual Configuration
Initial Configuration: Initial Configuration is done only once while the software is being installed. Information of teachers, students, school etc is being provided during initial configuration. The status of the school (LP, UP, HS and HSS) is extracted from these details. The details of each class such as name of the teacher-in charge, names of the teachers and their corresponding subjects etc are to be entered.
Annual Configuration: Annual configuration is done at the beginning of every academic year. The results of all classes, details of new teachers and new students are being entered in this section.
After these two configurations the software is ready for processing.
2. Data Updation: In Edii System other than the configuration section, there are many options for obtaining data and information such as details of school, teachers, students etc. The details of marks for every term and result at the end of every academic year can be entered. The awards and achievements obtained by students and teachers of each school at various levels are updated through this. The details of passed out students such as their courses & institutions and performance are also maintained.
3. Data Modification: Edii System provides an option for modifying or editing almost all details that we have already entered since there may arise some occasions where modification becomes a must. The option will be very much useful in the occasions like, change in address of teachers & students, correction in the mark and result and also, if there is any erroneous data. The way in which Edii System has designed its interface helps in making the modification processes a simple one.
4. Display: Edii System follows a unique way to display information like the details of school, students, teachers, class etc. Navigation is much easier since the double click on a particular item provides the further details of that item. Starting from the school details, we can finally reach at the personal details of a student or a teacher.
There are also conventional displaying methods for viewing awards and achievements of students and teachers and the current information of passed out students.
5. Data Analysis: Edii System performs data analysis, which helps in the easy assessment of improvement in the academic performance. Analysis are done in various basis:
Performance Analysis: This analysis is done by comparing the current term’s average marks with previous terms’ or batches’ average marks. The assumptions are made by calculating the percentage of increment in marks. The result of this comparison, which is less than ‘0’, is considered as bad or worse performance. We can also do subject wise analysis to find out the performance of each subjects and there by can improve the performance of schools. Results of the analysis are shown in graphical form for the easy assessment.
Statistical Classification of Students: This analysis is done by creating a frequency table of the marks obtained in different terms for analysing the percentage of students that comes under different ranges of marks. Since it is a standard statistical way of analysis we can find out the actual performance of the school very easily. Graphical details of this are also attached for an easy understanding and comparison.
Students’ Performance Analysis: Edii System provides an option to view the performance of each student of the school by generating a performance report of your choice. From this analysis report we can observe the improvement of each student’s performance by comparing the percentage of current marks with the previous terms’ or batches’ mark. We can also find out the subjects in which the student is weak and thus can improve the result by concentrating more on that subject.
Teachers’ Performance Analysis: In Edii System we can we view the performance report of a teacher of the school. This report will help us to understand the performance of students in each subject handled by a teacher.
6. Report: There may be many occasions where the reports of mark list, students’ list etc. becomes essential. Edii System provides an easy way for report generation from existing data and information. According to the users choice the reports for class details, mark list, students’ list, student’s details, teachers’ list, teacher’s details can be generated.
The results or output of all the analysis such as performance analysis, statistical classification of students, students’ performance analysis, teachers’ performance analysis can be generated as a report.
8. Security and Settings: Edii System has a strong built in security system. It is protected from the unauthorized users by implementing security with the help of passwords.
It allows two types of users to access the system:
Administrator: The Administrator can enter and edit the information and data maintained in the school. Only the Administrator is allowed to change the password and other settings.
User: The User can only view the details and take printouts.
An option is given in the file menu to switch over from one user type to another.
